Please note: It is the owner’s responsibility to check the credentials of anyone advertising as an animal osteopath/animal practitioner.

The AAO does not personally endorse any member on this list. It is simply a list of members who have demonstrated to us that they comply with our Code of Practice and follow professional practice methods in their country of practice. All members agree to work within the limitations of their own state or country, using titles that are appropriate. In some countries, owners should note, that if the practitioner is not allowed to use the term “Osteopath” in their country of practice (irrespective of the standard to which they trained), they may not be able to use the title unless they were first human trained. As a result, AAO may list them below, but on the practitioner’s own advertising, they may not use the word Osteopath or Osteopathy, but rather a title such as canine/equine functional practitioner or animal manual therapist. Such a practitioner will, however, have acquired AAO membership, by demonstrating that they hold appropriate qualifications and appropriate insurance in the field of animal osteopathy (as suited to their training and scope of practice).

The AAO highlights practitioners who are Not Human Trained [osteopaths] within their listing, by using the letters ‘NHT’ after the practitioner’s name, so as not to mislead the general public. Please check for this when searching if it is important to you.

The AAO cannot be held responsible for the actions of any member, so please make your own checks before assessment or treatment commences and check with your vet if you have any medical concerns about your animal.
